Role Summary
A Leading Firefighter in the oil and gas industry supervises and coordinates emergency response operations, ensuring the safety of personnel, assets, and the environment. This role demands advanced firefighting expertise, leadership skills, and deep familiarity with industrial hazards.
Key Responsibilities
- Emergency Command & Control
- Lead firefighting and rescue operations during fires, explosions, and chemical incidents.
- Make tactical decisions on apparatus placement, agent selection, and suppression strategy.
- Direct evacuation procedures and coordinate with medical and safety teams.
- Risk Mitigation & Safety Oversight
- Conduct risk assessments and hazard analysis for onshore and offshore facilities.
- Advise emergency services on plant operations and fire hazards.
- Ensure compliance with NFPA standards and site-specific safety protocols.
- Training & Development
- Train and mentor junior firefighters in emergency response, equipment handling, and rescue techniques.
- Identify skill gaps and coordinate external training to meet NFPA 1081 standards.
- Participate in drills and simulations to maintain operational readiness.
- Equipment & Site Management
- Supervise inspection and maintenance of firefighting vehicles, tools, and PPE.
- Oversee cleanup and recovery of incident sites and ensure readiness for future emergencies.
- Apply cooling water to equipment exposed to flame or radiant heat in unprotected zones.

Qualifications & Skills

- Certifications:

- HAZMAT awareness or technician-level certification.
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or First Aid certification.
- Having a valid driving license to operate a Fire truck.
