Job Description: Rover Operator (Offshore Oil & Gas LNG Production)
Position Overview
The Rover Operator is a multi-skilled offshore technician responsible for monitoring, operating, and supporting production systems across different areas of an oil, gas, or LNG facility. This role provides flexible operational coverage, ensuring safe and efficient production by assisting control room operators, field technicians, and maintenance teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Monitoring: Patrol assigned areas, check equipment status, and report abnormalities to the control room.
- Operations Support: Assist in starting, stopping, and adjusting production equipment such as pumps, compressors, separators, and LNG units.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all activities follow HSE standards, offshore safety protocols, and company procedures.
- Field Data Collection: Record operating parameters, meter readings, and production figures for reporting and analysis.
- Emergency Response: Act as first responder in case of alarms, leaks, or equipment malfunctions, coordinating with the control room.
- Maintenance Assistance: Support technicians during routine maintenance, isolations, and equipment inspections.
- Communication: Serve as a link between field operations and the central control room, ensuring accurate information flow.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify inefficiencies and recommend operational improvements to enhance production reliability.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Diploma or technical certification in Process Operations, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field.
- Experience: 3–5 years in offshore oil & gas or LNG production operations, preferably in field operations.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with offshore production systems, LNG processes, and safety procedures.
- Certifications: Offshore survival training (BOSIET/T-BOSIET, HUET), H2S awareness, and process safety training.
- Skills: Strong observation, communication, problem-solving, and ability to work under pressure.
Working Conditions
- Offshore rotational schedule (e.g., 28/28 or 21/21).
- Exposure to remote and challenging environments.
- Strict adherence to offshore safety and emergency protocols.
