• High school diploma for non-senior roles
• Job-specific vocational training for non-senior positions
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering for senior and leadership roles
• Ability to work in a high-risk offshore environment
• Strong safety awareness and compliance with operational procedures

Core Offshore Certificates

• OGUK/OEUK Medical Certificate
  • Confirms you are medically fit to work offshore.
  • Issued by OEUK-approved doctors.
  • Typically valid for 2 years.
• BOSIET (Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training)
  • Essential safety training for all offshore personnel.
  • Covers firefighting, sea survival, first aid, and emergency response.
  • Must include CA-EBS (Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System).
  • Valid for 4 years.
• FOET (Further Offshore Emergency Training)
  • Refresher course for those whose BOSIET is expiring.
  • Valid for 4 years.
• HUET (Helicopter Underwater Escape Training)
  • Mandatory if traveling offshore by helicopter.
  • Teaches escape techniques in case of ditching/crash landing.
  • Often bundled with BOSIET.

Job Description

Position: Shore Base Logistics Lead

Industry: Offshore Oil & Gas / LNG Production

Reports To: Operations Manager / Offshore Logistics Manager

Role Overview

The Shore Base Logistics Lead is responsible for managing and coordinating all shore-based logistics activities that support offshore oil & gas and LNG production operations. This role ensures the safe, efficient, and cost-effective movement of personnel, equipment, and materials between the shore base and offshore facilities, while maintaining compliance with company standards, industry regulations, and local requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Logistics Coordination
  • Plan, schedule, and oversee daily supply chain operations between shore base and offshore platforms/production facilities.
  • Manage marine and air transport logistics, including vessel scheduling, cargo manifests, and helicopter operations.
  • Ensure timely delivery of critical materials, spare parts, and consumables to offshore sites.
• Shore Base Operations
  • Supervise warehouse, laydown areas, and material handling operations.
  • Implement inventory control systems to track offshore-bound materials and equipment.
  • Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and freight forwarders for inbound/outbound shipments.
• Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure logistics operations comply with HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards and international shipping regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments for shore base activities.
  • Maintain documentation for customs, permits, and regulatory compliance.
• Team Leadership
  • Lead and mentor shore base logistics staff, including warehouse operators, transport coordinators, and administrative support.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration with offshore operations, drilling, maintenance, and procurement teams.
• Cost & Performance Management
  • Monitor logistics budgets, optimize transport costs, and negotiate with vendors.
  • Track KPIs such as delivery accuracy, turnaround time, and cost efficiency.
  • Prepare regular reports for senior management on logistics performance and improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in logistics operations, preferably in offshore oil & gas or LNG production.
• Strong knowledge of marine and aviation logistics, customs clearance, and international shipping regulations.
• Proven leadership experience managing shore base operations and multidisciplinary teams.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, inventory management software, and logistics planning tools.
• Excellent communication skills with cross-cultural teams (Arabic, Bahasa Indonesia, and English proficiency is an advantage).
