Position Overview
Job Purpose: Subsea Marine Survey Specialist Offshore Oil Gas LNG Production
Plan, coordinate, and execute underwater marine survey operations to ensure the integrity and optimal performance of subsea assets—such as jackets, pipelines, risers, and data cables—through regular technical and visual inspections. Ensure compliance with environmental standards and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise subsea survey campaigns using ROVs, AUVs, and sonar systems.
- Oversee data acquisition, processing, and quality assurance (QA/QC) of survey results.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders (engineering, operations, HSE) and external contractors.
- Develop inspection schedules and risk-based maintenance strategies.
- Interpret geophysical and hydrographic data to assess asset condition and seabed stability.
- Interpret and process survey data into charts, maps, and technical reports for engineering and construction teams.
- Ensure compliance with company HSE standards, IMO, IOGP, and ISO requirements.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and present findings to management and regulators.
- Conduct subsea surveys (geophysical, hydrographic, geotechnical) for offshore LNG compression facilities.
- Operate and maintain survey equipment (ROVs, AUVs, multibeam echosounders, side-scan sonar, sub-bottom profilers, positioning systems).
- Supervise offshore survey campaigns, ensuring data quality, integrity, and safety compliance.
- Support subsea pipeline routing, platform installation, and seabed hazard assessments.
- Liaise with contractors, vessel crews, and project stakeholders to align survey operations with project timelines.
- Provide technical input during tendering, contractor selection, and project execution phases.
- Train and mentor junior survey engineers and technicians.
Qualifications & Skills

| Certifications (preferred) | IMCA, BOSIET, H2S, STCW, ISO QA/QC Valid offshore survival, HUET, and H₂S certifications. |
| Soft Skills | Strong analytical, communication, and leadership abilities Strong knowledge of offshore positioning systems (DGPS, USBL, LBL). Proficiency in survey software (CARIS, EIVA NaviPac/NaviEdit, Hypack, QINSy). Experience with ROV/AUV operations and subsea inspection campaigns. Familiarity with standards and Middle East offshore environments preferred. |
