Job Description

Position: Shutdown Coordinator – Offshore Oil, Gas & LNG Production

Location: Offshore Facilities Employment Type: Full-time

Role Overview

The Shutdown Coordinator supports the Shutdown Lead by managing detailed planning, scheduling, and coordination of shutdown activities. This role ensures that all work packs, resources, and logistics are prepared and aligned for safe and efficient execution.

The Lead role is strategic and supervisory, while the Coordinator role is tactical and execution-focused. Together, they ensure shutdowns are safe, efficient, and successful.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed shutdown schedules, work packs, and resource allocations.
  • Coordinate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and contractors.
  • Track daily progress and report updates to the Shutdown Lead.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and permit-to-work systems.
  • Support execution of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and process scopes.
  • Maintain documentation and records for shutdown activities.
  • Assist in post-shutdown reporting and lessons-learned reviews.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline.
  • 5–7 years of experience in offshore oil, gas, or LNG operations.
  • Strong background in maintenance planning and coordination.
  • Familiarity with shutdown/turnaround processes and safety standards.
  • Certifications such as Authorized Gas Tester, HSE training, or equivalent are desirable.

Contract Scheme: Direct hire employment

Duty Cycle: 28 days on – 28 days off

Nationality: Applicable for: Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Myanmar and Africa Countries

Health Condition: Fit to work and maximum age 45 years old

  • Mandatory offshore experience
  • High school diploma for non-senior roles
  • Job-specific vocational training for non-senior positions
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering for senior and leadership roles
  • Ability to work in a high-risk offshore environment
  • Strong safety awareness and compliance with operational procedures

Core Offshore Certificates

  • OGUK/OEUK Medical Certificate
    • Confirms you are medically fit to work offshore.
    • Issued by OEUK-approved doctors.
    • Typically valid for 2 years.
  • BOSIET (Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training)
    • Essential safety training for all offshore personnel.
    • Covers firefighting, sea survival, first aid, and emergency response.
    • Must include CA-EBS (Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System).
    • Valid for 4 years.
  • FOET (Further Offshore Emergency Training)
    • Refresher course for those whose BOSIET is expiring.
    • Valid for 4 years.
  • HUET (Helicopter Underwater Escape Training)
    • Mandatory if traveling offshore by helicopter.
    • Teaches escape techniques in case of ditching/crash landing.
    • Often bundled with BOSIET.
