JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE:

  • Provide technical and operational support to the Safety Department and company facilities by delivering effective emergency response. Support compliance requirements in Fire Safety and Emergency Response according to industry standards to ensure reliable and timely response to any emergency situation.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Emergency Response Support
     Assist in developing and implementing of Emergency Response tactics and strategies for emergency incidents.
     Communicate the Emergency Response tactics and strategies with the Incident Commander and the Emergency Response Team.
     Assist the Fire Safety Coordinator in conducting critiques after incident responses and drills for continuous improvement.
     Follow the Emergency Management Procedure roles and responsibilities related to the Incident Command System.
     Assist the Fire Safety Coordinator with all Emergency Response Team (ERT) classroom training, the field exercises, quarterly shift drill and joint drills with the Industrial Cities Fire Departments.
     Participate in JSAs, open flame hot work, Fire box inspections, Lock Tag & Try partial breakage, critical lifts, stores all closed-out confined space entry permits, etc.
     Assist in auditing and/or critiquing of emergency drills, training, and incidents to ensure complete understanding of the facilities emergency response plan including all roles and responsibilities and the proper execution.

Emergency Response Equipment Maintenance
 Follow internal Standard Operating Procedures of the developed schedules of inspection, testing,
maintenance, inventory management and record keeping of all emergency response equipment (fixed and mobile) i.e., fire extinguishers, SCBA’s, hydrants, monitors, PIV’s, pumps, engines, safety showers, etc. to ensure proper compliance.

Maintain accurate records of emergency response equipment and secure printed forms to be used from ECM.
 Maintain clean breathing air masks, dry, bag and manage equipment supply distribution to facility. Refill breathing air bottles and maintain cascade systems.
 Maintain portable eye-wash equipment to ensure availability at all times and perform Annual Safety Shower & Eye Wash Inspection and Testing and prepare relevant reports.
 Conducts monthly fire extinguisher inspections in the facilities, fit testing, and monitoring of ambient air SO2, noise level etc. to ensure safety and proper working condition.
 Order, track and maintain all consumable inventory items to ensure sufficient supply when needed.
 Lead housekeeping and orderliness of the fire Station to keep the area free from any obstruction anytime when an emergency occurs.

 Contribute to the identification of opportunities for the continuous improvement of systems, processes, and practices in order to increase productivity and operational efficiency.
 Implement all relevant Section’s policies, processes, procedures, and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
Quality, Health, Security, Safety and Environment
 Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and relevant quality, health, safety, security and
environmental procedures and controls across the Section to guarantee employee safety and delivery of high-quality products/services.
Reporting
 Contribute to the preparation of timely and accurate reports to meet departmental requirements, policies, and standards.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Education
Required (Qualification1 / Discipline): Diploma in Science or Engineering.
Preferred (Qualification1 / Discipline): Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Safety Management, Paramedic,
Occupational Safety, or any similar discipline.
Experience
Required (Years2 / Job Level3 / Industry): 3-5 years of similar experience in fire services.
Preferred (Years2 / Job Level3 / Industry): Experience in industrial firefighting.
