Job Performer / Permit to Work Coordinator

A detail-oriented and safety-focused Job Performer / Permit to Work Coordinator to manage and oversee the permit-to-work system across operational sites. The role ensures that all work activities are properly authorized, risk-assessed, and executed in compliance with company policies, industry standards, and local regulations. The PTW Coordinator will act as the central authority for issuing, monitoring, and closing permits, ensuring safe and efficient execution of tasks.

Country location: Middle East – UAE

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and coordinate the Permit to Work (PTW) system for all site activities.
  • Review and validate permit applications, ensuring risk assessments and method statements are complete.
  • Issue permits for high-risk activities (hot work, confined space entry, electrical isolation, working at height, etc.).
  • Monitor ongoing work to ensure compliance with permit conditions and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of permits issued, active, suspended, and closed.
  • Liaise with supervisors, contractors, and safety officers to ensure clear communication of PTW requirements.
  • Conduct site inspections to verify adherence to permit conditions and identify potential hazards.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff and contractors on PTW procedures.
  • Support incident investigations and recommend corrective actions related to permit compliance.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in Permit to Work coordination or safety management, preferably in oil & gas, petrochemical, or construction industries.
  • Strong knowledge of PTW systems, risk assessment, and safety regulations.
  • Familiarity with industry standards (OSHA, ISO, OHSAS, or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in multicultural and high-pressure environments.

Preferred Skills

  • Certification in Safety Management (NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent).
  • Experience with electronic PTW systems or digital safety platforms.
  • Knowledge of Middle East regulatory frameworks and site-specific compliance requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
