Primary purpose of job

  • Maintain, install, monitor and carry out troubleshooting on all assigned static and rotating mechanical equipment and ascertain availability and sufficiency of all equipment including tools and spare parts to guarantee reliability, operability and equipment functioning within safety and maintenance standards.
  • Perform corrective, preventive and predictive maintenance on all assigned static and rotating mechanical equipment in timely, safely and cost effective manner with the aim of enhancing equipment performance, ensuring reliability and availability of equipment.
  • Overhaul, align, fit, and assemble component parts as per Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) recommendation using hand and power tools to ensure equipment are operating effectively and efficiently.
  • Assist immediate supervisor in the requirement for the repair of mechanical equipment that are linked to inspection report to ensure equipment integrity and safe plant operation.
  • Participate in functional tests for new Project as instructed by immediate supervisor to ensure assigned mechanical equipment functioning as per approved for construction documents.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
  • Perform shop maintenance, which includes repairs, maintenance and calibration of assigned mechanical equipment to keep equipment operating at their peak.
  • Fabricate and modify mechanical assemblies as required, using QP standard practices, according to schematic drawings or other documentation generated by supervisor to make assembles available when needed.
  • Identify critical spares and ensure availability and ready for use in case of emergency to reduce down time of machines, minimise possible flaring and sustain production.
  • Inspects mechanical systems and their components for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs and recommending preventive maintenance.

Experience & Skills

  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in oil and gas/petrochemical industry.
  • Capable of understanding P&ID drawings.
  • Full working and maintenance knowledge of mechanical equipment in hazardous area zone 0, 1 & 2.
  • Good knowledge in carrying out the alignment of rotating equipment.
  • Should have a good knowledge of safety practices relating to the Oil & Gas/Petrochemical industry.
  • Preferred to have good knowledge/experience in SAP system.
  • Good knowledge of English, in both written and spoken.
  • Fair Knowledge in computer skills.
  • Skill in report preparation.
