Ammonia Plant
(2008 – Present) Sr. Operator, with unit has handled:

Panel Operator (Pneumatic control):
Front End Panel (BFW & Steam system, Feed gas treating, and reformer system, Compressor driving control).
Middle Panel (Shift conversion (HTS & LTS), CO2 Removal, Methanation).
Back End Panel (Hydrogen production Unit & Hydrogen recovery unit, Synthesis Ammonia & Refrigerant system).

Field Operator:
Boiled Feed Water & Steam System Unit
Steam Methane Reforming & Feed Gas Treating (Mercury Removal & Desulphurization)
Shift Conversion (HTS & LTS) & CO2 Removal Unit
Feed Gas Compressor driven by turbine (Natural Gas Compressor, Air Compressor, Syn-Gas Compressor, & Ammonia Compressor)
Synthesis Ammonia & Refrigerant system, Hydrogen Production Unit & Hydrogen Recovery Unit, Ammonia Storage

Duties & Responsibility:
Reporting to shift supervisor and control room operator once any abnormal sample reading, or plant function.
Continually check all control condition are set and production level is maintained according to instruction and complete log sheet.
Creates, verifies, analyzes and approves job Permits to work and daily sample; issues work and entry permits for general, hazardous, confined space working conditions.
Isolate and prepare equipment for maintenance jobs as per conditions of work permit. And Isolate electrical equipment from power source before maintenance jobs and energize them after closure of work permit (LOTO).
Works flexibly in the field and panel rooms with Control Room Operators and Direct Supervisors for radio instruction and coordination in Field Operations such as making manual adjustment of valves and other equipment.
Checks and records in the log sheet various readings such as oil and gas flow, temperature and pressure, oil fluid level, electricity, hydraulic system, and record unusual events after reporting them to Foreman.
Identifies equipment needs; reports findings to management; coordinates equipment repairs with maintenance team; plans equipment installation.
Patrols the plant area and make sure the equipment is operating normally so that there are no unusual conditions.
Using SAP to create daily reports and improvement plans
Maintain process stability at all times by close surveillance of operating conditions, reporting all abnormal conditions to Shift Engineer and take quick and decisive actions in emergencies (equipment failures or process deviations) following SOP and work instructions.
Review with outgoing Process Technician the previous shift activities: how the unit operated during the shift, abnormal parameters if any, log sheets, isolations, etc.
Check readings and alarms on the field instruments / local panel and report abnormalities or deviations to Control Room and Shift Engineer for advice and further action.
Perform minor maintenance activities such as lubricating accessible rotating equipment and cleaning strainers.
Receive chemicals, Loading Phosphate, Hydrazine, and Aqueous Ammonia for BFW treatment. Loading Carbonate, Vanadium, and DEA for Benfield solutions. Collect samples of raw materials / intermediate products / final products for lab test to ensure quality.
Develop an understanding of all operational procedures and practices through on-the-job training to ensure readiness and capability to effectively operate all areas of the plant
Participate in the on-the-job training of new and trainee operators to ensure they develop the necessary skills to independently operate the allocated areas of the plant.
