Role Overview

The Wellhead Maintenance Foreman (PIC) is responsible for supervising and coordinating all wellhead maintenance activities in offshore oil, gas, and LNG production facilities. This role ensures that wellhead equipment is maintained safely, efficiently, and in compliance with operational and regulatory standards. Acting as the Person in Charge (PIC), the Foreman provides leadership to maintenance crews, manages resources, and ensures the integrity and reliability of wellhead systems critical to production operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervision: Lead and oversee wellhead maintenance teams, ensuring safe and efficient execution of tasks.
  • Maintenance Planning: Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities for wellhead equipment, valves, and associated systems.
  • Safety Compliance: Act as PIC, enforcing HSE standards, permit-to-work systems, and risk assessments during wellhead operations.
  • Operational Support: Collaborate with drilling, production, and engineering teams to align wellhead maintenance with operational requirements.
  • Inspection & Testing: Ensure proper inspection, pressure testing, and certification of wellhead equipment.
  • Resource Management: Manage tools, spare parts, and consumables required for wellhead maintenance.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment status, and compliance reports.
  • Emergency Response: Lead wellhead-related emergency interventions and ensure readiness of crews.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve wellhead maintenance processes and enhance equipment reliability.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Petroleum, or Production Engineering.
  • 7–10 years of experience in offshore oil, gas, or LNG production, with at least 3–5 years in wellhead maintenance supervision.
  • Strong knowledge of wellhead systems, valves, actuators, and pressure control equipment.
  • Familiarity with international standards (API, ISO, OSHA) and offshore safety regulations.
  • Experience in managing maintenance crews and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Certifications such as Authorized Gas Tester, HSE training, or OPITO-approved courses are desirable.

    • Must include CA-EBS (Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System).
    • Valid for 4 years.
  • FOET (Further Offshore Emergency Training)
    • Refresher course for those whose BOSIET is expiring.
    • Valid for 4 years.
  • HUET (Helicopter Underwater Escape Training)
    • Mandatory if traveling offshore by helicopter.
    • Teaches escape techniques in case of ditching/crash landing.
    • Often bundled with BOSIET.
